Meet the Teacher
Autumn had her meet the teacher today. It went great! Her new teachers seem really great and supportive of potty training. We are sending her in panties for the first day with lots of changes of clothes, but I think she'll do great.

Cousin Visit
Autumn's cousins were in town for a visit and we met at their grandparents' house to swim. We had just cut Autumn's hair again and she looked so cute! It was shorter than the last time we cut it.
Here she is dancing like crazy! With her cousins beside her.

Here is Grandpa reading to his grandchildren.

Later in the week they came over to our house. Autumn had a blast!

You can see how short her hair is here. And so cute!

Misc July Photos
July Summer Camp Week

You have started saying "So I...". As in, "I was asleep. So I wake up! So I come downstairs." Or "I was wet in the tub. So you dry me off!" All about cause and effect.
July 11
You finally peed on the potty! Without trying too hard, I've been trying to coincide a time when you pee when you are sitting on the potty. So far we have just sat and waited, but tonight you actually peed while sitting there with Daddy! We gave you a yellow peanut M&M (all I had on hand) and did the "Autumn peed, Autumn peed!" dance in the bathroom.

Debi Mazar just introduced herself on Sesame Street to talk about the word "humongous". Autumn turned to me with a very confused and indignant look and said, "She said her name Debbie. You Debbie!" I told her it was okay if we both had the same name. She finally accepted that I am "Momma Debbie".

Autumn has an early warning system. If we are talking to loudly, aren't paying attention to her or we are doing something to her she doesn't like, she says, "Hooooooo!" in a high pitched voice. It is pretty ingenious because it ALWAYS gets our attention.

Sprinkler Installation
We moved into a house with no sprinklers so we had them installed. Oddly enough, we had a really wet second half of the summer so it is kind of a bummer that we installed them when we did, but great to have it taken care of. It was a hassle due to poor communication from the company about the schedule, but it is done. Autumn started calling the workers, "My sprinkler guys." "Where are my sprinkler guys? When will my sprinkler guys be back?" And then down the street there was another installation and she wondered why her sprinkler guys were at that house and not ours.

They made a 2 foot ditch in the back yard before it started to POUR for HOURS.

Fourth of July Weekend
We went up to Gram and Grandpa's house for the Fourth of July. My main motivation to get us out of town is that their town is strict about fireworks. And since Autumn still has an aversion to fireworks ("I heard the fireworks, so I cried.") I figured we should be away from the house.
On Saturday the 3rd we went out to dinner and then to the lookout at the airport. There was a storm rolling in so it was very windy.

You can see on the photo below that Autumn is glistening with sweat.

We left on Monday the 5th and stopped at the McDonald's in Waco that everyone else stops at as well. Here she is waiting for Daddy to come back with food.

And then ICE CREAM!

Also, the 4th of July marks 10 years together for Richard and I. We went bowling and ate pizza to celebrate.

On the 4th we met up with my friend Tracy and her daughters at a local church playground. Unfortunately it was very hot inside. And of course, the higher you climbed, the worse it got. I stayed on the ground and I was miserable. We tried to tolerate it, but ended up going to a McDonald's to play instead. You can see on the photo below that Autumn is glistening with sweat.
